The Reading Festival Miami 2017

The Reading Festival Miami 2017

The event The Reading Festival, a week conceived as a celebration of reading, literature and arts in Spanish in Miami, will arrive this year to its fifth edition. From the 1st to the 7th of October, during the Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, we will carry out a varied program of activities for children, youth and adults. This year's event poster was created by Ecuadorian illustrator and designer Roger Ycaza.

The Reading Festival 2017 will have special guests writers like Carmen Posadas, of Spain; María del Sol Peralta, of Colombia, and Maria García Esperón, of Mexico. As part of the event, the play for children will be released Las medias de los flamencos (in tribute to the centenary of the first edition of Cuentos de la selva, by Uruguayan Horacio Quiroga), and will be presented in the United States, adult short stories books Extraños testimonios, de Daína Chaviano, y Salchichas vienesas y otras ficciones, de Antonio Orlando Rodríguez, both published by the Spanish publisher Huso.

To develop the activities of The Reading Festival, the Cuatrogatos Foundation has a valuable collaboration with important cultural and educational institutions of the city, including Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, Miami Book Fair, Spanish Cultural Center of Miami, Mexican Cultural Institute of Miami, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Imago Art in Action, Altamira Libros, Cinco Books, Artefactus Cultural Project, Jordan-Marcos The Agency and 3MINDWARE.
